The South Texas Stallions 16U team won the AAU tournament held in
Pharr Texas on May 14-15. The team went 4-0 en route to the title
crown as they beat the McAllen Mavericks, South Texas Stallions
Gold, South Texas Stallions Blue & Mustangs. General point guard
Nathan Gonzalez (Mission Vets) ran the show and proved why he is
a D1 prospect. He was joined by other college prospects and
school teammate Archie Reyna, Laredo United's Joe Andre Firova,
La Villa's Louis King, McHi's Henry Valladares and Anthony
Wilkerson, and Marine Military Academy's Chris Wyse. With this
victory the team advanced to the National tournament in New
Orleans Louisiana. The next stop is Texas A&M on June 4-6, UTSA
on June 24, Denton on July 8-11, and the grande finale will be in
Las Vegas from July 21-28.
